As we reach the end of 2011, we would like to thank our clients , associates, friends, and families for helping us achieve success in the Las Cruces Real Estate Market . We are also very lucky to have the support from our real estate office, Steinborn & Associates. We are most thankful for the opportunity to make a living in a career we cherish in a community that we love. We appreciate the time you take to read our newsletter, to learn about Las Cruces, and to refer us to your friends and colleagues. We are very excited about the opportunities that 2012 brings. We wish each of you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Rob Peterson Joins Connie and Zane!
Connie and I are very excited to introduce a new member of our team, Rob Peterson. Rob has been a licensed Realtor in the state of New Mexico since 1990, but he chose to spend the majority of his time protecting the community as an officer with the Las Cruces Police Department.
Rob brings knowledge of Las Cruces that is truly superior, not only because he has served as a policeman and knows the city inside and out, but also because he has a long-standing commitment to his home town. More than anything, Rob has the same beliefs that we have: the client always comes first. I am very excited to work with Rob.
Connie is also pleased to have Rob join us. She said, “I have known Rob since shortly after I moved to Las Cruces. I worked with his father Bud, and I considered him a mentor. Bud was much respected in the real estate community, as is Rob. We have very similar backgrounds, having both been in law enforcement. I understand his commitment, and I am very excited to work together in real estate and also help the community.”

Las Cruces Home Sales Statistics
|

Eighty-one single family homes were sold in Las Cruces in November 2011, down from November 2010 by nine homes. October 2011 finished just slightly better than the previous October. It looks like home sales in 2011 may be slightly under the 2010 total of 1194 homes sold, which was down from 2009 when 1309 homes sold.

Las Cruces Homes Sold Days On the Market
|

The average number of days from being put on the market to closing continues to be pretty close to the 2010 average days, and better than 2009 for the majority of the year. Las Cruces homes which are in the best condition, area, and price range sell in an appropriate time. However, homes which do not meet the buyers' objectives for condition, price, and location have continued to take longer to sell. Buyers are looking for the best homes in the market, and they are willing to buy when the appropriate homes are available.

Churches
Although the Catholic Church continued its dominance, new settlers brought their religious beliefs to the community. By the turn of the century, Methodist, Baptist, Episcopal, and Presbyterian congregations had established churches in town. Phillips Chapel, a CME Church established in 1911, was the first Black church in Las Cruces. Early Jewish settlers either held services in their homes or attended holy day services in El Paso. After meeting for many years at the original Branigan Library, the Jewish community built a synagogue in 1961.(Courtesy of the Branigan Library)
